A Place to Dream!

A Place to Dream is a small horse property owned by my husband, Roberto and me. We decided when we bought the property that it would be used to help others and dedicated our property to the Lord in hopes of making a difference in the lives of kids of all ages.

Hope 4 Women International holds events at A Place to Dream. These events are open to homeless and other children at risk. The kids are divided into groups and are rotated so that each child has the opportunity to ride and engage in horsemanship, do a fun craft and eat! We have "cowboy church" with the kids and volunteers seated on bleachers facing the arena. Whomever is reading the lesson/scripture sits on a horse facing the bleachers while they read.

Each child receives a cowboy/cowgirl hat and a cowboy Bible. They are sent home with backpacks crammed with food.

Other times A Place to Dream is open by appointment to: Girl Scouts doing Dress a Girl projects (and of course there is the opportunity to dream and ride); Individuals who have always dreamed of riding a horse; birthday parties and just for fun.

A Place to Dream Bake Shop!

I have always loved to bake! I don't think of it as baking--to me it's creating something yummy to look at and divine to taste!

Here are a few pictures of my creations at A Place to Dream Bake Shop!

Guests From Rescue.org

We love to host groups of people at risk or in crisis as we did on this day with The International Rescue Committee (IRC) which responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives.
We invited them to come and ride, do crafts, have fun with our "photo booth" and just for an hour or so to laugh and play and not think about the horrors they've experienced.

Emma's Birthday Party

We love hosting birthday parties at A Place to Dream! When Emma was approaching her 12th birthday she begged her mom to let her have her party here! She loves horses and sometimes comes just to ride. Her mom thought it would be the perfect place for Emma's party and it was!
Here are some picture highlights.
