A Place to Dream is a small horse property owned by my husband, Roberto and me. We decided when we bought the property that it would be
used to help others and dedicated our property to the Lord in hopes of making a difference in the lives of kids of all ages.
Hope 4 Women International holds events at A Place to Dream.
These events are open to homeless and other children at risk. The kids
are divided into groups and are rotated so that each child has the
opportunity to ride and engage in horsemanship, do a fun craft and eat!
We have "cowboy church" with the kids and volunteers seated on
bleachers facing the arena. Whomever is reading the lesson/scripture
sits on a horse facing the bleachers while they read.
Each child
receives a cowboy/cowgirl hat and a cowboy Bible. They are sent home
with backpacks crammed with food.
Other times A Place to Dream is open by appointment to: Girl Scouts
doing Dress a Girl projects (and of course there is the opportunity to
dream and ride); Individuals who have always dreamed of riding a horse;
birthday parties and just for fun.
